This project Kingsley Roofing Southern (KRS) undertook involved working on a Grade II listed senior ratings accommodation.
The scope of the project included the removal of the existing slates and lead from the structure. This entailed careful dismantling and disposal of the old materials to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The next phase of the project focused on the installation of new code6 lead components. This included supplying and fixing the lead to the flat roofs and tapered box gutter, ensuring a watertight and durable solution. Additionally, new lead chutes were be installed through the parapet walls, providing proper drainage and preventing water damage.
A crucial aspect of the project involved the application of new code 6lead to the parapet cornice detail. This intricate works required skilled craftsmanship to ensure the lead is seamlessly integrated with the existing architectural features, maintaining the historic character of the building.
Considering the significant size of the lead bays involved in the project, special measures were taken to minimise material waste.Pre-cutting the lead was deemed necessary to optimise efficiency and reduce excessive waste, ensuring a more cost-effective and sustainable approach to the project.
Throughout the project, meticulous attention was given to preserving the heritage value of the senior ratings accommodation. The materials used and the installation techniques will adhere to the specific requirements and guidelines associated with working on a Grade II listed building.
